The LG120 is a standalone logarithmic amplifier that is widely used for testing highly attentive materials or materials that vary greatly in attenuation and require an extended dynamic range to display the full range of signals on a single A Scan display. It is designed for use as a through transmission signal enhancement and compression amplifier to extend the dynamic range of the RF signals produced by the receiving transducer.
The LG120 has a log conversion range up to 120 dB. It is designed to operate in a narrow band frequency range that is factory set and typically configured for a 1 MHz bandwidth. The input voltage range of the LG120 covers a span of 8 Vpp down to 8 µVpp with a log conformity of ± 2 dB over the full range.
